Interior Architecture’s final project 2016 was discussing the matter of soft and hard architecture through living machine where students were given chance to explore the properties of materials through their own research interest. This living machine topic challenged the students to generate ideas related to interiority and apply it to the chosen sites in a holistic manner. They were asked to design space as a whole system that affects its inhabitant instead of putting some decorations within. The studio was completed in a semester including the preliminary research stage.
There 5 outstanding projects within that challenge many issues related to interiority, exteriority, habitation, vegetation and also design methods. The students were able to demonstrate unique findings at the end of semester by examining their ideas through design.
